Cross-section of skin

Description

Polychrome representation of a cross-section of human skin, showing the dermis and epidermis and its various components: papilla, blood vessels, hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and axons. The representation also features labels that number and name the different elements.

A similar piece can be found (albeit in a worse state of conservation) in the collection of the University of Zaragoza (Ref. UZ000656), which can be viewed at: http://patrimoniocultural.unizar.es/node/833
