“Jardín de la Luz” Early Years School

Description

This building shares part of the plot with the M.I Pérez Quintero Building and is adjacent to the Faculty of Experimental Sciences and the Marie Curie and Robert H. Grubbs Research Centres. Its façade overlooks a major road and is located on the far-western side of the El Carmen university campus adjacent to Tres de Marzo Avenue.

The building, which comprises a single storey with a mezzanine, is inspired by Roman domus. The exterior is notable for its curved roof outline and light blue façade. The structure is composed of steel pillars and curved, coupled, metallic trusses.

Rationalist in style, this project was undertaken by the architects Rafael Aguilera Carrasco, Sergio Gómez Melgar and Jesús Hemosilla Carrasquilla, and was completed in 2007.
