Main Hall of the Faculty of Law
Description
The Main Hall is used for major conferences, meetings, and presentations, and is located close to the main entrance of the Faculty of Law. In earlier times it was a theatre pertaining to Theology and Philosophy.
Its vaulted ceiling was built in 1675, and presiding over the hall is a major portrait of Emperor Charles V. During restoration works conducted in 1998, a large fabric banner from the II Spanish Republic was found hidden behind the portrait. This, too, is currently on display in the Hall.
